Abstract
INTRODUÇÃO: Os serviços comunitários para mulheres na Escócia, funcionam como um espaço de suporte, na perspectiva de fornecer caminhos por meio de apoio e conexão para responder, prevenir e resolver demandas sociais e de saúde. OBJETIVO: Relatar a experiência de uma visita técnica realizada a dois serviços de apoio comunitário para mulheres em duas cidades na Escócia com altos índices de pobreza. MÉTODO: Estudo descritivo do tipo relato de experiência, vivenciado por um grupo de pesquisadores durante visita a serviços comunitários para mulheres, realizada durante atividades do Doutorado Sanduíche no Exterior, em dezembro de 2024. RESULTADOS/DISCUSSÃO: Os serviços visitados, oportunizaram conhecer estratégias inovativas de suporte e enfrentamento das desigualdades sociais e de saúde com foco nas questões de gênero. Lugares que promovem apoio, conexão e empoderamento para mulheres. Os serviços desenvolvem um rico cronograma de atividades semanal que estão disponíveis para todas as mulheres. Para ter acesso aos serviços não é necessário encaminhamento, é aberto para todas as mulheres. As atividades englobam a presença de enfermeiras, psicólogos e assistentes sociais para que as mulheres desenvolvam suas habilidades por meio de programas de trabalho em grupo e caminhos de educação e/ou empregabilidade; oficinas de cozinha, curso de inglês, suporte para teste de direção, bem-estar psicossocial, incluindo ioga, pilates e oficinas criativas de música, teatro e escrita; suporte com creche gratuita pra os filhos das participantes no período em que elas estão realizando as atividades, o fornecimento de roupas, acesso a banho, produtos de higiene pessoal, incluindo produtos menstruais; acesso a programas de inclusão digital, e de redução de danos. O ambiente dos serviços é acolhedor e promove privacidade às mulheres. A equipe trabalha em parceria com instituições governamentais e não-governamentais, a fim de oferecer diferentes formas de acesso e apoio as mulheres. CONSIDERAÇÕES FINAIS: As visitas técnicas realizadas permitiram a troca de saberes entre o Brasil e a Escócia, a compreensão da política de moradia, saúde e assistência social voltado as mulheres na Escócia. Assim, observa-se a relevância de adotar estratégias de cuidado e acolhimento, considerando a atuação de diversos setores em busca de caminhos de crescimento para as mulheres.
INTRODUCTION: Community services for women in Scotland function as a support space, aiming to provide pathways through support and connection to respond to, prevent, and resolve social and health demands. OBJECTIVE: To report the experience of a technical visit to two community support services for women in two cities in Scotland with high poverty rates. METHOD: Descriptive study of the experience report type, carried out by a group of researchers during a visit to community services for women, conducted during activities of the Sandwich Doctorate Abroad, in December 2024. RESULTS/DISCUSSION: The services visited provided an opportunity to learn about innovative strategies for supporting and addressing social and health inequalities with a focus on gender issues. These are places that promote support, connection, and empowerment for women. The services develop a rich weekly schedule of activities that are available to all women. Access to the services does not require a referral; it is open to all women. The activities include the presence of nurses, psychologists, and social workers to help women develop their skills through group work programs and pathways to education and/or employability; cooking workshops, English courses, support for driving tests, psychosocial well-being, including yoga, Pilates, and creative workshops in music, theater, and writing; support with free childcare for participants' children while they are participating in the activities, provision of clothing, access to showers, personal hygiene products, including menstrual products; access to digital inclusion programs and harm reduction. The service environment is welcoming and promotes privacy for women. The team works in partnership with governmental and non-governmental institutions to offer different forms of access and support to women. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: The technical visits carried out allowed for the exchange of knowledge between Brazil and Scotland, and an understanding of housing, health, and social assistance policies for women in Scotland. Thus, the importance of adopting care and support strategies is evident, considering the actions of various sectors in the search for growth pathways for women.
