Abstract
The Western Australian law regarding Aboriginal heritage has seen considerable changes in the last few years. In 2025, three cases are being heard which may produce further changes in legal understanding; and the WA Government is endeavouring to conduct “a 10-year Aboriginal Heritage Survey Program ... across the State, managed by the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage”. This note summarises recent developments of relevance to the resources/energy sectors and regulation of Aboriginal heritage in WA.
