Abstract

This thesis is practice-based research and comprises two parts. The first part, submitted as a separate component, is the creative artefact, a novel entitled The Descent. This is the first novel in a dystopian trilogy and serves as an example of a popular genre fiction novel created by an author taking the distinctly post-press approach to creative practice and functioning as a creative entrepreneur. The accompanying critical thesis uses the novel, The Descent, to illustrate and explain my personal creative practice. The critical thesis also includes a brief overview of the collaborative authorship model, a possible expanded approach to creating fiction creative entrepreneur in the post-press environment.
